06.12.2008 Visual Development Artist I am currently doing a variety of freelance illustration projects which has put updates to my website on hold a bit longer than planned. It's still in progress and will include some of my recent work as a visual development artist, toy designer, concept artist, illustrator...just a little bit of all kinds of creative. Check back soon! Some of my professional creative experiences include working as - a concept artist - a toy, novelty collectible and seasonal decor product designer - a storyboard artist for commercial advertising - a visual development artist (character design and environments) for independent animation - an intern on the Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius television series at DNA Productions, Inc. - a portrait and caricature artist - an illustrator, layout artist and 2D animator for children's products (educational textbooks and multimedia), and - a print, video editor/multimedia artist, web and UI designer for a wide variety of corporate clients (e-learning, online training, knowledge management software, and media entertainment). As an Air Force Brat, I traveled all around the U.S. and some of Europe. As a web consultant, I did the same. I've visited or worked in 26 US states and 11 different countries! In my free time, I am developing a graphic novel for tweens and two picture books. To continue adding to my creative skill sets as a visual development artist, I am learning maquette sculpting with polymer clay; I try to fit in some 3D modeling and texture practice when I can because I like the challenge and enjoy the creative results. It's such a different way to think about a canvas.
