12.28.2008 Illustration :: Concept Art :: Product Design Updates to my website will include recent work in book illustration, concept art development, and other creative explorations. My interests in nature, sci-fi and fantasy, and developing interesting and whimsical characters shows throughout my art -- if you're in need of a freelance illustrator with my skills and experience, please contact me by email to schedule a project! Some of my professional creative experiences include working as - a children's book illustrator, - a toy, novelty collectible and seasonal decor product designer (Christmas is my speciality), - a storyboard artist, and - a visual development artist (character design and environments) for independent animation. As an Air Force Brat, I traveled all around the U.S. and some of Europe. As a web consultant, I did the same. I've visited or worked in 26 US states and 11 different countries! Some of my current projects include a couple of comic book adaptations, a graphic novel for tweens and two children's picture books. To continue adding to my creative skill sets as a visual development artist, I am learning maquette sculpting with polymer clay; I try to fit in some 3D modeling and texture practice when I can because I like the challenge and enjoy the creative results. It's such a different way to think about a canvas!
